Primarily based on first hand accounts, historical records, and some of his own conclusions, this book paints a picture of not only six generations of his family, but also the global events that shaped their world. Besides the individuals portrayed, historical events such as wars, confederation, the industrial revolution, pandemics, disasters, political figures and a prolonged economic depression, are all characters with a roll to play.
